The New Science of Living and Healing by the New Thought author Wallace D. Wattles examines various aspects of mental and physical health from a unique perspective and with some unorthodox conclusions. The book discusses diet, nutrition and fasting, the source of strength, the nature of sleep and how to make the most of it, a scientific way of living and healing, the power of the mind to cure, nature and the development of will power, suffering in sickness, and new light on immortality.

According to the author, Jesus of Nazareth was misunderstood by the people of his own time and grossly misrepresented by succeeding generations, especially by those who professed to be his friends and followers.

In The Weapon of Prayer the author explains the necessity and the depths and realities of prayer. E. M. Bounds (1835-1913) was a popular and respected Christian author and attorney. He wrote Power Through Prayer as a guide for Christians who wish to improve their lives. The book is practical, teaches the individual to pray fervently and effectively, and is claimed to have an invigorating effect on the soul.

D L Moody (1837-1899) was a prominent 19th century evangelist who founded the Moody Bible Institute of Chicago and Moody Publishers. Moody defines prevailing prayer as a form of prayer that involves the whole of one’s being and affects one’s mind, will and emotions. The author identifies and explains those factors that will increase the likelihood of prayers being answered, and described some of the stumbling blocks to all-consuming prayer.

Confessions, St Augustine’s autobiographical work comprising 13 books, is not a complete autobiography as it was written during his early 40s. He states his regrets for having followed Manichaeism and believing in astrology, and tells of Saint Ambrose's role in his conversion to Christianity. The City of God is a book of Christian philosophy.

The Table Talk of Doctor Martin Luther is a collection of Luther’s commentaries on Biblical books such as Galatians and Deuteronomy. Much of the collection is based on notes taken during Luther's talks with his students and colleagues. Luther's close associates Antony Lauterbach and John Aurifaber took note of these informal speeches in which he comments on subjects such as baptism, the holy spirit and discipleship. The City of God is the usual English translation of the most influential work written in the fifth century. Augustine, bishop of Hippo, wrote it between 413 and 426. He defines contentment as an inward, quiet submission of the heart, which takes pleasure in God's providence in every situation.

Martin Robison Delany (1812-1885) was an African-American abolitionist, journalist, physician, and author. He was one of the first three black people admitted to Harvard Medical School. Delany dreamed of establishing a settlement in West Africa and visited Liberia, a United States colony founded by the American Colonization Society. He was a prolific writer, and his book The Origin and Objects of Ancient Freemasonry, Its Introduction Into the United States, and Legitimacy Among Colored Men was published 1853.

In his 1920 book The Jews of Africa, Mendelssohn attempts to chart the separate and progressive histories of the Jews in the different parts of Africa where they lived since their expulsion from the land by the Romans. He succeeds in compiling a narrative of a large part of the histories of the Jews of Africa during the centuries following the Romans’ destruction of Jerusalem.

Dwight Lyman Moody (1837-1899) was an evangelist, author, and publisher associated with the Holiness Movement. The work is built on a compilation of biblical texts that represents a sound argument for human will under the guidance of divine grace.

Samuel Logan Brengle (1860 - 1936) was a Commissioner in the Salvation Army and a leading author, teacher and preacher on the doctrine of Holiness. In his books The Soul-Winner's Secret, The Way of Holiness, and Helps to Holiness, the author defines holiness as pure love which makes one hate uncleanness, lying and deceit, a flattering tongue and every evil way; that makes heaven and hell eternal realities; and that makes one patient and gentle.

The Prophecy Collection is a compilation of the most profound prophecies and predictions. It contains the Oracles of Nostradamus, augmented with Charles Ward’s assessment of his predictions.
