Paul Miller, captain of the Star Frigate Sunrise, ran his ship with an iron fist; because of that his crew hated him. Miller fantasized about being the first naval officer to contact alien life. His long-suffering crew would give him his chance when they mutinied, marooning their captain on an uncharted planet. Would Captain Miller find aliens? If he did would they help him to regain his command? Or would help come from a most unexpected quarter?

After destroying the supercomputer overloads that were enslaving humans and turning them into mind-controlled zombies, a worse enemy appeared. While seeking out allies in their battle of man versus machine, they caused the ancient enemy of the computer race to return to the Orion arm of the galaxy and claim Earth. After learning of the alien ability to destroy planets and teleport warriors on command, the elected leadership forsakes the legion and orders them to disband.
