Is AI sentient? Before we try to answer that question; what about humans? Are we sentient? (Some would argue it's debatable.) The news and social media are filled with apocalyptic warnings about AI and the future of humanity. AGI is essentially the hope that Claude or Chat GPT or any AI platform will start thinking on its own. Because when that happens, like Tolkien's ring, whomever gets there first will rule the world. Hard to fathom, really. Are these systems playing God? If so, doesn't it make sense to figure out what or who God is?
