My name is Thomas, and like the apostle I was named after, I have had my share of doubts. But I have also had a deep longing—a longing for unity among believers in Christ. I grew up Roman Catholic, went to Mass weekly, memorized catechism answers, and felt a deep respect for tradition. But when I married a Protestant woman and began attending her church too, a flood of questions washed over me. Why were we so divided when we professed the same creeds? Why did we debate communion, baptism, saints, and Scripture as if they were walls between us rather than shared treasures?

Should everyone have privacy in their personal lives? Can privacy exist in a public place? Is there a right to be left alone even in the United States? You may be startled to realize that the original framers were sensitive to the importance of privacy interests relating to sexuality and intimate life, but mostly just for powerful and privileged (and usually White) men.

I don't know about you, but there's plenty that I don't understand. That's what this podcast is for. Whether it's the Bible, people, places, events, I want to learn more! And I hope to start conversations about various topics that I'll be studying and seeking out. Join me on this journey!
