  • Rusty Wright & Haley Sage | More Than a Gold Buckle
    2025/08/15

We’re taking you back to one of the most real and unfiltered conversations we’ve ever had. Five-time NFR bronc rider Rusty Wright and breakaway roper Haley Sage sat down with us in Fallon, Nevada, for a conversation that goes far beyond arena stats and gold buckles.

Rusty opens up about walking through life’s deepest valleys—loss, drinking, divorce, and self-doubt—and what it took to climb out. He shares the story behind Hell and Back, the Cowboy Channel documentary he almost didn’t film, and the unexpected healing that came from letting the world see behind the curtain.

Haley brings her own powerful perspective—on rebuilding a life brick by brick, loving Rusty for who he is (not what he’s won), and finding the good even in the hardest moments. Together, they talk about real friendship, mental health in rodeo, and learning to love yourself before chasing any buckle.

This episode is raw, inspiring, and relatable for anyone who’s ever had to get back in the saddle after life knocked them flat.

  • Andrea Busby | Pushing Boundaries on the Road to the NFR
    2025/08/01

In this replay episode of In The LOOP, we sit down with 2024 National Finals Barrel Racing Aggregate Champion Andrea Busby for one of the most honest and inspiring conversations we’ve had yet. This episode originally aired earlier this season, but it’s one we believe is worth hearing again.

From early rodeo days to finally crossing the Thomas & Mack threshold, Andrea brings us through every twist, turn, and tough lesson along the way. We talk about what it truly took for her to make her first NFR — and why the timing couldn’t have been better. Andrea opens up about her journey through horse injuries, mental fatigue, and rebuilding her confidence mid-season. She shares the impact of mentors like Brittany Pozzi-Tonozzi and Sue Smith, and how their guidance helped her grow both as a horsewoman and as a competitor.

This episode digs into the gritty realities of rodeo life — from engine failures and barrier mistakes to the pressure of placing when every dollar counts. We reflect on her placing in 9 out of 10 NFR rounds, winning the average, and doing it all with grace, grit, and deep faith.

Andrea reminds us that success isn’t about a single run — it’s about the thousands of miles, hard days, and quiet victories that lead you there. Her story is powerful, relatable, and full of the kind of wisdom we all need to hear.

    2025/06/25

5x NFR bronc rider Rusty Wright and breakaway roper Haley Sage were not lying when they said they would tell it all. This episode is downright real, raw, emotional, and inspiring as we sit down during a summer stop in Fallon, Nevada.

But this one’s not about the arena stats—it’s about the people behind the buckles.

Rusty opens up about the valleys he's walked through—the loss, the drinking, the divorce, the self-doubt—and what it really took to climb out. • #237 - Emmry Edwards | WRWC 2025 Champions | $60K Breakaway Win at 15
    2025/06/07

Emmry Edwards, the 15-year-old phenom who went head-to-head with rodeo’s elite in the breakaway roping at the 2025 Women’s Rodeo World Championship—and left with $6,000, a whole lot of grit, and a story to tell.

From a last-chance qualifier to the biggest stage in the sport, Emmry’s journey to AT&T Stadium wasn’t exactly mapped out—but it was earned. With a bold 2.0-second run in the short round, she proved she wasn’t there just to show up—she was there to win. While the barrier kept her from the $60K, her presence in that box was anything but small.

Emmry talks about her roots in rodeo, including her mom’s legacy and the Something Special Breakaway Roping series that helped shape her love for the sport. She walks us through her road to AT&T, her mindset backing into the box behind two 1.8-second runs, and how she stayed calm, collected, and focused on her job.

We also talk about her recent momentum-building win at the Junior Patriot, splitting a $50,000 bonus after a 1.9-second run—and how she’s preparing to climb divisions and dominate in the challenger class in 2026.

This episode is for the young guns, the dreamers with their rope in hand and eyes on the prize, and every girl who’s ever wondered if she’s too young or too new to make her mark.

Because Emmry’s story is proof that all it takes is one run, one moment, and a whole lot of heart to change everything.
