Fall asleep inside history. Tonight you are on a winter road in the far north of Russia, about a hundred and fifty years ago, when snow closes the way and a village church rings its bell through the storm to bring you in. A peasant family opens their door, and the whole slow evening of a northern izba unfolds around you: the great brick stove that fills a quarter of the room and stays warm all night, the singing samovar and the long unhurried tea, black bread and honey and mushrooms salted from the autumn woods, the spinning wheel humming by splinter light, the grandmother telling an old tale of Frost while the children listen from the sleeping shelf, felt boots drying, the storm heard soft through log walls chinked with moss, and at the end of it all the warmest bed human beings ever built, made up for you on the broad warm back of the stove itself.

You will hear the wind moving around the log walls, fine dry snow hissing at the little windows, the deep soft tick of the great stove giving back its heat all night, and through the wall the horse and the cow settling in the covered yard.

This is a three hour sleep story with an extended narration. The story ends softly around the 2 hour 45 minute mark, and then the snow and the warm stove continue to the third hour. Black screen friendly.
