Lauren Young is a recent honors graduate of Western Michigan University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management with minors in Event Management and Communications. Throughout her academic career, she gained valuable experience in recreation, event operations, facility management, coaching, and leadership development through various roles within the university and community sports organizations. Lauren is especially passionate about advancing opportunities for women in sport and promoting greater equity within athletic programs. Her honors thesis examined the feasibility of implementing a varsity women's ice hockey program at Western Michigan University, exploring the financial, operational, and community impacts of adding the sport. Through this research, she combined her love for hockey with her commitment to expanding opportunities for female athletes. As she begins the next chapter of her academic and professional journey, Lauren will attend East Tennessee State University to pursue her MBA with a concentration in Sport Administration, where she hopes to continue developing the skills needed to make a lasting impact in the sports industry and advocate for the growth of women's athletics.
