However, the outbreak of tuberculosis in the 1920s forced them to shift their focus to caring for TB patients, a task that continued until the disease became curable. After changing hands several times, the building eventually fell into disrepair before being purchased by the Wagatha family in 2017. Renamed Wildwood Sanitarium, the family has been working tirelessly to restore the property to its former glory, offering it as a destination for paranormal investigations to fund their efforts. But as the past is uncovered, so too are the spirits that still linger within the walls of Wildwood Sanitarium.
