  • Cultivate Emotional Intelligence
    2026/06/11

Your emotions can feel loud, confusing, and exhausting, but they’re not proof that you’re failing. They’re data, and when you learn to read them with wisdom, they become a tool for healthier choices, calmer relationships, and stronger resilience. We anchor this conversation in Abigail’s story from 1 Samuel 25, where humility, discernment, and courage come together in a moment that could have exploded but didn’t.

We talk about emotional intelligence (EQ) through a faith and mental health lens: what it means to recognize emotions without shame, why emotionally driven reasoning can hijack clear thinking, and how Scripture points us toward a sound mind. We connect Proverbs 9:10 and Proverbs 4:23 to everyday life, because guarding your heart is not abstract. It shows up in how you handle anger that pushes people away, fear that shrinks your world, and sadness that isolates you.

We also get practical about the body. Emotions create real chemistry, from calming neurotransmitters like dopamine and serotonin to stress hormones like cortisol and adrenaline that fuel fight, flight, or freeze. When that stress response becomes chronic, it can strain major systems in the body and contribute to anxiety, depression, burnout, and relationship conflict. That’s why we focus on self-regulation skills you can practice right away: pausing to breathe, noticing physical cues, and choosing to respond deliberately instead of reacting impulsively.

EQ can be learned, and for believers we’re not doing it alone. We remind ourselves that the Holy Spirit is our helper, and self-control is available as we grow. • The Value of Humility: Lessons From Abigail
    2026/06/03

Anger can feel righteous in the moment, but it rarely leads to wise outcomes. We go to 1 Samuel 25 and sit with one of the most practical stories in Scripture for conflict, emotional regulation, and faith in action: Abigail stepping into a volatile situation and preventing David from making a decision he would have carried for the rest of his life.

We talk about what humility really is and what it is not. Humility is not walking around bowed down or pretending you do not matter. Humility is clear identity, seeing yourself the way God sees you, and that posture positions us to receive God’s grace, help, and favor. From there, we trace the turning points of the story: Nabal’s foolish contempt, David’s rising rage, and Abigail’s quick thinking as she gathers provisions, listens to the facts, and chooses courageous intercession.

You’ll hear how Abigail uses wisdom and discernment to de escalate a crisis, why anger is not a friend of rational conversation, and how reminding someone of their calling can pull them back from the edge. This is a conversation for Christian women who want WholeHeart resilience, stronger mental health, and biblical tools for navigating high conflict moments with strength and peace.

  • Faith: When Scripture Becomes an Anchor
    2026/05/29

A single diagnosis can turn your whole world into a question mark. What do you do when doctors speak in absolutes, your body feels fragile, and your mind starts racing toward the worst-case scenario? We go straight to the heart of biblical faith, using Hebrews 11:1 to define faith as certainty in what we can’t yet see, and we talk honestly about how that kind of trust becomes real when life gets painful, confusing, or scary.

We connect the dots between mustard seed faith and the “mountains” many of us carry every day: anxiety, fear, resentment, unforgiveness, bitterness, and chronic or sudden illness. We also name the spiritual battle for our thoughts, remembering that the enemy traffics in lies while God, through the Holy Spirit, keeps working for our good. Anchored in Romans 8:28, we explore what it means to expect God’s goodness without slipping into wishful thinking or denial, and why the words we speak matter so much when pressure is high.

Then we share a personal testimony from a life-threatening health crisis: pulmonary hypertension, ICU care, organ failure, and the terrifying words “transplant or death.” We talk about the moment Scripture became an anchor, how Jeremiah 33:6 shaped our prayers and our perspective, and how faith held steady when circumstances didn’t. We close with practical, calming steps from Philippians 4:6-7, including how to replace worry with prayer, gratitude, praise, and worship as a pathway to peace and Christian mental wellness.
