  • Where the Waves Meet the Words

    In this episode of the Where Writers Go creative writing podcast, I take you on a sensory-rich walk and storytelling journey around the seaside town of Cleveleys on the Lancashire coast, so relax and enjoy the walk.


    Then, I will share more information about Cleveleys, so you have a better understanding of where we’ve just been.


    Next, I will talk about the importance of ‘SETTING’ in creative writing and storytelling, and give you a writing prompt and exercise to practise yourself, designed to help you develop setting in fiction and spark new ideas for your own stories.


    I really enjoyed making this podcast and writing my own story based on the guided walk, and I hope you enjoy it too.

  • Where Writers Go - From Park to Page

    Today’s Where Writers Go podcast is called ‘From Park to Page,’ and we’re heading to Alexandra Palace in North London, also known as Ally Pally to the locals.

    Once we’ve been there, I will discuss what we heard, what I took from the walk, and what you can use to create your own stories.

    Then I will talk about ‘theme’ and set you an exercise to experiment with ‘themes’ in your own writing.

    So, take a moment, relax, close your eyes if you can or zoneout if you can’t, and let’s visualise the journey.
