I went swimming yesterday morning and, for about ten seconds, decided to stop treating exercise like another thing I needed to optimise and pretended I was Ariel instead. 😂 And weirdly, it changed my entire mood.

It got me thinking about happiness, manifestation and something I've been exploring a lot recently: perhaps the things we're chasing aren't really what we're chasing at all. During infertility and IVF, I thought a baby was the thing that would finally make me happy. Looking back, underneath that desire I was also desperately searching for relief, peace and the feeling that everything was going to be okay.

And I still do it now. The promotion, the house, getting my book published, even deciding whether a pedicure is a sufficiently productive use of my lunch break. There's always another milestone promising a feeling on the other side.

In this episode, I'm thinking out loud about personal growth, happiness, manifestation, productivity, infertility and learning how to find those feelings in the life I'm living now, even if sometimes that means being a nearly 40-year-old woman doing mermaid kicks in a swimming pool full of very serious adults.

Maybe the question isn't "What am I chasing?"

Maybe it's "What feeling am I actually looking for?"

And when was the last time you did something simply because it felt good?

The Winging It Life Podcast explores happiness, identity, mindset and the messy process of building a life that feels good while it's still unfolding. Because happiness shouldn't have to wait.

One other thing I'd keep an eye on: "When was the last time you played?" could become a really good recurring theme in the book too.

Because it's not just about play. It's about the difference between doing something because of where it gets you and doing something because of how it feels while you're doing it.

That distinction feels increasingly central to what you're trying to say.
