My title for this episode is “When You Feel Overwhelmed.” And I suspect that’s something every one of us has experienced at some point and understands.

All of us have lived through moments when life felt bigger than our strength. Moments when we felt outnumbered, outmatched, or simply out of options.

Sometimes it’s not one big single crisis; it’s the slow accumulation of pressures that finally becomes too much. Sometimes it’s the unexpected blow that knocks the wind out of our sails, or it follows a long season of discouragement that wears us down. Whatever form it takes, we all know what it is to feel overwhelmed.

And so, my question is: What do you do when that happens and how do you respond?

In the Old Testament, one king found himself in exactly that situation. He was factually outnumbered and overwhelmed, facing an enemy he could not defeat, a crisis he could not control, and consequences he could not escape. And what he did in that moment is exactly what we should do in ours.
