Join me and my friend as we unpack what gender feels like in everyday life. We talk about sex and gender, what being non binary can look like, and how to show up better for trans and gender nonconforming people.
Expect personal stories, small practical tips, and plenty of moments that might make you rethink what you thought you knew.

Definitions:
AFAB - Assigned female at birth. A medical label given when someone is born based on anatomy. AMAB - Assigned male at birth. A medical label given at birth based on anatomy.
Sex versus gender:
Sex refers to biological attributes such as chromosomes, hormones, and anatomy. Gender refers to social roles, identity, and how someone experiences themselves as masculine, feminine, both, neither, or something else entirely. People often mix these up, but they are not the same thing.
Non binary - An umbrella term for people whose gender is not only male or female. Someone who is non binary might use they them pronouns or other pronouns, and may express their gender in many different ways.
Cis - Short for cisgender. A cis person’s gender identity matches the sex they were assigned at birth. Being cis is a common experience but not the only one.
Gender nonconforming - When a person’s expression or presentation does not follow cultural expectations for masculinity or femininity.
Trans - Short for transgender. A trans person has a gender identity that is different from the sex they were assigned at birth. Trans experiences are varied and can include social transition, medical transition, or none of those things.
