In this episode of the What Do You Do? podcast, I speak with Larissa Astara Gray about everything related to positive sex education.
The biggest misconception about Larissa's job is the usage of the word "positive". A lot of people assume that it means that she's 'sex positive', as in, we should have more sex. This isn't the case at all.
Rather than being positive about sex, Larissa is all about making sex safer, by using sex education to reduce the number of negative sexual encounters. After facing a lifetime of negative sexual encounters herself, Larissa works with young people, teachers and parents to give a better understanding about behaviours that young people may have picked up from harmful content online, and other social pressures.
Trigger warning: severe sexual abuse, physical and emotional abuse, drug abuse, gaslighting
