Tears do not magically produce a harvest, seeds do. That single thought took an old line, “they that sow in tears shall reap in joy” (Psalm 126:5), and turned it into a practical question I cannot shake: what am I planting while I am hurting, waiting, or rebuilding?

I talk through how this solo podcast itself started, not after everything “made sense,” but while I was grieving expectations and wrestling honestly with God and with my own life. I share why we often delay creating until we feel healed, and why I am starting to believe the healing can come through the process of creating. I also open up about receiving a diagnosis that brought real relief and real grief at the same time, because new language can free you in the present while rewriting how you understand the past.

From there, we go into surrender and why it is not the end of growth. Sometimes surrender is what finally frees our hands to plant something new. I reflect on a moment with a friend who told me I felt like home, and how that might be the harvest of years of planting safety, presence, gentleness, and grace without even noticing. We also connect this to the compound effect and Atomic Habits, because we are planting something every day in our relationships, our parenting, our marriages, and our work.
