Who actually owns the money in your bank account? In week two of our series, What God Says About Your Money, Pastor JT tackles the fundamental difference between living like an owner and living like a steward.

The breakthrough comes when we realize a simple, revolutionary truth: God owns it all. He is the ultimate owner, but He calls you and me to manage His resources—and He expects us to manage them well.

  • It All Belongs to God: Scripture leaves no room for debate—the earth and everything in it belong to the Lord (Psalm 24:1).

    • Your money is His: From Haggai 2:8 to Psalm 50, God reminds us that the gold, the silver, and the cattle on a thousand hills are already His.

    • Your ability to make money is from Him: Deuteronomy 8:18 reminds us that it is God who gives us the power and strength to gain wealth in the first place.

    • The amount you have comes from Him: As 1 Samuel 2:7 says, the Lord makes poor and makes rich; He brings low and He exalts.

  • We Are Called to Be Good Stewards (Luke 16:1–13): Looking at the Parable of the Shrewd Manager, we learn three key lessons about stewardship:

    1. Benefit Others: We are called to use our resources to serve others and build relationships that outlast this earthly life.

    2. Keep an Eternal Perspective: Earthly wealth is temporary. Wise managers use temporary wealth to invest in eternal returns.

    3. Be Faithful: True spiritual trust is built on daily financial faithfulness. You cannot serve both God and money.

Pastor JT challenged us to process two reflective questions this week depending on where we are on our spiritual journey:

  • For the Believer: How have you truly been viewing the finances you’ve been entrusted with? Does your spending, saving, and giving reflect that your money belongs to you, or to Him?

  • For the Seeker: How does it make you feel knowing that God cares deeply about your heart in every detail of life—including your money? Why do you think a loving Father cares so much about what has hold of your heart?

Connect with Us: Shifting from "owner" to "steward" changes everything about how we view our resources and align our hearts with God. Listen to the full message on our app or website, and join a LifeGroup to keep processing these truths in community!
