The habit loop is a research-backed cycle that describes how habits are formed and maintained. It has three parts: the cue, the routine, and the reward. The cue is the trigger that prompts the behavior, the routine is the behavior itself, and the reward is the positive outcome that reinforces the behavior. Over time, the habit loop becomes automatic, and the behavior becomes a habit that occurs without conscious thought.
