• #21 BUILDING RESILIENCE – P3 “MENTAL RESILIENCE”
    2026/04/17

#21 (S3-E7) Episode 21 on the Well for Goodness Sake – THE 4:8 LIFE PODCAST is a real-life chat with author-podcaster, Jesus follower, wife, and mother, Jo Fuenzalida. On today’s episode, MENTAL RESILIENCE, the final piece and part three of building resilience against all evil and spiritual warfare, and taking our place in the resurrection of Jesus Christ, His life, death, resurrection, and blood—TRUTH!

We dissect and understand, giving THE LIFE OF OUR MINDS to God, consecrating everything to Him, mind, body, soul, spirit. It is powerful what He has done, and His glory fills us as we fully surrender at the foot of the cross.

Welcome to the SAFE SPACE. Listen and be encouraged that you are not alone.

    KEY VERSES

Luke 11:1 “Lord, teach us to pray...”

John 8:31-32 “Know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”

John 15:5 “I am the vine, ye are the branches… abide in me…”

Psalms 139:23-24 “Search me, oh God, and know my heart, try me, and know my thoughts: and see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”

Matthew 6:9-13 “Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name… thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.”

    KEY FOCAL POINTS

Part 1: Mind prayer & mindset

Can we worship a God we are not fully surrendered to? Can we love a God we are not fully surrendered to?

Part 2: What narrative are we living in?

According to John Eldridge, the human brain compartmentalizes the details of life, reality, and what story we believe into narratives.

Part 3: Mental resilience is Jesus (Truth)!

God’s glory and truth fill the hearts and minds of every believer, and we find that glory and peace like no other in His presence.

Part 4: More on loving Jesus

Loving Jesus means full surrender, giving it all to God.

Building resilience against all evil and spiritual warfare takes place in the presence of God. • #18 “UNDERSTANDING THE CHARACTER OF GOD” – P2
    2026/03/12

#18 (S3-E4) Episode 18 on the Well for Goodness Sake – THE 4:8 LIFE PODCAST is a real-life chat with author-podcaster, Jesus follower, wife, and mother, Jo Fuenzalida. On today’s episode, Part 2 of UNDERSTANDING THE CHARACTER OF GOD. We dive even deeper into the key passage, Exodus 34:6-7, dissecting the tension of God’s mercy and justice. We take a closer look individually at the five attributes of God from the key passage: compassionate, gracious, slow to anger, loyal in love, and faithfulness. There is only one REALITY! The reality of God, His creation, Kingship, purpose, and plan for all of creation. Your eternity depends on the reality you are walking and living in.

Are you walking and living in the one reality of the living Lord and King of the heavens and earth, the God of the Bible?

Are you in union with the Holy God, and unashamedly His?

Welcome to the SAFE SPACE. Listen and be encouraged that you are not alone.

    KEY VERSES

Exodus 34:6-7 “6The Lord passed in front of him and proclaimed: The Lord  — the Lord is a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger and abounding (overflowing) in faithful (loyal) love and truth, maintaining faithful love to a thousand generations, forgiving iniquity, rebellion, and sin. 7But he will not leave the guilty unpunished, bringing the consequences of the fathers’ iniquity on the children and grandchildren to the third and fourth generation.”

    KEY FOCAL POINTS

Compassionate God: God is “Yahweh” (Rakh-oom’), His character is “rakh-umim”. God’s character and this Hebrew word are analogous to the compassionate care of a mother and her newborn baby.

Gracious God: KHANUN is the HEBREW noun FOR GRACIOUS. Related is the verb KHEN (often translated as GRACE or FAVOR), and it gets interesting if you follow its use throughout the Bible.

Slow to Anger God: In Hebrew, “SLOW TO ANGER” is pronounced, “er’ik-uh-pie-em”. The common Hebrew biblical way of referring to an angry person was “hot nose”, or “their nose burned hot”.

Loyal Loving God: LOYAL LOVE translates into the Hebrew word “KHESED”. KHESED describes acts of loyalty that are motivated by deep personal care from someone.

Faithful God: The Hebrew word EMET means FAITHFULNESS or TRUTH. It’s also related to the word many of you have already heard in church – AMEN!

    2026/02/27

#17 (S3-E3) Episode 17 on the Well for Goodness Sake – THE 4:8 LIFE PODCAST is a real-life chat with author-podcaster, Jesus follower, wife, and mother, Jo Fuenzalida. On today’s episode, Part 1 of UNDERSTANDING THE CHARACTER OF GOD. We dive deep into the key passage, Exodus 34:6-7, which allows us to dissect the tension of God’s mercy and justice. We cover the five attributes of God from the key passage, which demonstrate His compassionate and gracious nature, how He is slow to anger, loyal in love, and faithful to us. Jesus paid the ultimate price for you to be in union with God.

Have you left any space in your life for the Lord who did that for you?

Dissecting the tension between God’s mercy and justice: the question is, is God a God of compassion, love, and mercy? Or is He a God of anger and justice, based on the key passage and the tension between verses six and seven?

A closer look at the five attributes of God found in Exodus 34:6:

    · Compassionate

    · Gracious

    · Slow to Anger

    · Loyal in Love

    · Faithfulness

  • #16 “STEP UP” – P2
    2026/02/13

#16 (S3-E2) Episode 15 on the Well for Goodness Sake – THE 4:8 LIFE PODCAST is a real-life chat with author-podcaster, Jesus follower, wife, and mother, Jo Fuenzalida. On today’s episode, Part 2 of STEP UP. A welcome back to the official relaunch of the podcast, plus diving deeper into scripture to understand more about answering God’s call in your life and LETTING GO. We take a closer look at Mathew 16:24, share more relatable stories, and fully dissect obedience, surrender, and unashamedly belonging to God.

You were never meant to fill someone else’s shoes; you were meant to STEP UP, pick up the torch, and keep carrying the light!

Welcome to the SAFE SPACE. Listen and be encouraged that you are not alone.

    KEY VERSES

Matthew 16:24 KJV “Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.”

    KEY FOCAL POINTS

Letting Go: Discovery is made through obedience to God. The Greek word for “LET HIM DENY” is ἀπαρνέομαι. It is pronounced ap-ar-neh'-om-ahee (verb). It means to deny or lose sight of oneself. This refers to completely letting go of self-interest in order to become free and capable of “picking up your cross” to follow Christ.

The Symbol of the Torch: Throughout scripture, the torch holds symbolic meaning and has a significant purpose. There is a concept of “passing a torch”, as if passing down spiritual responsibility (example reference, 2 Timothy 1:6-7). “Stepping up with courage and strength” is used when answering God’s call (example reference, Joshua 1:9). “Answering the call in your life” is a metaphor often used when describing how Christians should be “the light of the world” (example reference, Matthew 5:14-16).

Taking Action: Accepting God’s call is marked by obedience and surrender to God. Sometimes this means letting go of something or someone.

Life of Purpose: A life unashamedly belonging to God and His call. Philippians 1:20 NIV “I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death.”

#15 (S3-E1) Episode 15 on the Well for Goodness Sake – THE 4:8 LIFE PODCAST is a real-life chat with author-podcaster, Jesus follower, wife, and mother, Jo Fuenzalida. On today’s episode, Part 1 of STEP UP. A welcome into 2026 and the official relaunch of the podcast, plus diving deeper into scripture to understand more about answering God’s call in your life. Are you listening to Him? Is there something He wants you to let go of? What area does He want you to step up and carry the torch in your life?

You were never meant to fill someone else’s shoes; you were meant to STEP UP, pick up the torch, and keep carrying the light!

Welcome to the SAFE SPACE. Listen and be encouraged that you are not alone.

    KEY VERSE

    Acts 26:16 KJV

“But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee.”

    KEY FOCAL POINTS

Empty Space: Have you lost a loved one or close friend? When we lose a person to physical or spiritual death, we experience empty space. Sometimes, we do not realize the significance of that void and loss.

The Space Only God Can Fill: Nothing can replace the space filled by our Creator and Savior. In this sacred space with God, we find our purpose and identity. Here we can access radical changes just like Saul transformed into Paul when God radically changed him, offering “purpose”.

Filling The Shoes Or Grabbing The Torch: We are not meant to fill someone else’s shoes; we’re meant to answer God’s call.

Stepping Up To The Higher Calling: We get in God’s presence, hear His call, respond by taking action on that call, and allow God to work His higher calling in us. When we pick up that torch and RUN, God lights the fire.
