Hi there, I'm Julia Cartwright, and I'm so glad you're here with me today. You know, it's early Wednesday morning, and if you're anything like most people I talk to, you might be feeling that familiar tension creeping in already. Maybe it's the weight of the week ahead, or perhaps you're carrying something from yesterday that just won't let go. Whatever it is, you're in exactly the right place. Today, we're going to practice something I call the "softening," and I promise you, it's going to feel like a warm hug for your nervous system. Let's start by finding a comfortable seat, somewhere you can just be for the next few minutes without too many distractions. You can sit in a chair, on the floor, or even lie down if that feels better for you right now. There's no perfect posture here, just you, getting cozy with yourself. Now, take a moment to notice your breath. You don't need to change it or control it, just notice it like you're watching clouds drift across the sky. In and out. In and out. Feel how your body rises and falls with each breath. There's no rush, no performance. Just breathing, and being alive in this moment. Here's where the magic happens. I want you to imagine that with each exhale, you're releasing tension like water draining from a cup. Start with your shoulders, those faithful tension holders. As you breathe out, let them drop away from your ears. Feel that softness spreading. Now your jaw, your face. Let your forehead smooth out like you're ironing wrinkles from silk. Keep going down through your neck, your chest, your belly. Each exhale is an invitation to let go. With every breath out, silently say the word "soften." Not as a command, but as a gentle permission to your body. Soften. Feel how your muscles respond to that kindness. You might notice a subtle unwinding, or maybe just a sense of permission, and that's absolutely enough. Stay here for a few more breaths, letting this softness spread through you like honey through warm tea. As we finish, bring your awareness back to the room around you. Wiggle your fingers, move slowly. Notice how your body feels different, calmer perhaps, more spacious. And here's the beautiful part: you can return to this softening anytime today. At your desk, in your car, waiting in line. Just one breath, one gentle word. Soften. Thank you so much for practicing with me on Relaxation. If this resonated with you, please subscribe so you never miss a session. You deserve this peace, and I can't wait to practice with you again. For great deals today, check out https://amzn.to/47ZqpWT
