  • 053 - Wedding Vendor Red Flags
    2026/04/22

Your wedding doesn’t need more “cute” details. It needs better decisions. We’re back with Part 2 and we’re getting brutally honest about what separates a smooth, fun wedding day from one that feels chaotic, awkward, or weirdly expensive.

We talk through the red flags we can hear on a booking call when a couple doesn’t even seem to like each other, then move into the wedding trends people keep copying without thinking. Merch tables can be a win if they’re actually wearable, but we’d rather you put that money toward the vendors who shape the entire experience. We lay out our real wedding budget priorities: a planner or day-of coordinator who protects your peace, a professional wedding photographer (and videography or a content creator if it fits) because memories are the one thing that lasts, and a DJ who can run the flow, cues, transitions, and backups so the party never dies.

Then we hit the guest experience landmines: lounge setups that give people an excuse to leave, activities that pull guests away from the dance floor, and why glass near dancing is a hard no. We debate guest dress codes, share a spicy take on satin bridesmaid dresses, and give ceremony tips your officiant will thank you for, like directing guests to stand and getting out of the first kiss shot.

We also go deep on vendor meals, breaks, and payment expectations, plus the behind-the-scenes reality of vendor relationships, jealousy, and impostor syndrome in the wedding industry. Finally, we pivot into real marriage life: location sharing, joint bank accounts, and the budget talks couples avoid until it’s too late. If this helped, subscribe, share it with a newly engaged friend, and leave us a review with your hottest wedding take.

  • 052- Unhinged Wedding Opinions
    2026/04/15

A lot of people want to blame “wedding culture,” but we think the real problem is pressure, priorities, and bad expectations. We sit down with Taryn and Trago for an unhinged but genuinely useful conversation about how to plan a wedding that feels like you, not a social media audition. We talk budgets without shame, why going into debt for a wedding is a hard no, and how anything from a courthouse ceremony to a luxury venue can be the right choice when it matches your life.

Then we get into the wedding vendor rabbit hole: wedding content creators, photographers, and the trend of adding content creation packages as an upsell. We break down what content creation actually delivers, why “two jobs at once” can dilute quality, and what couples should look for when they hire wedding vendors. Think contracts, reviews, insurance, professional payment, and that underrated step of getting on a call to see if you even gel with the person who’ll be in your space all day.

We also spill our wedding icks and hot takes: ugly wedding decor, chair bows, overbranding every item with initials, logo ice cubes, shaped butter, and the chaos of calling something “black tie” without providing a black tie experience. We wrap with bridal party energy, client communication, and why some extras like audio guestbooks can end up as expensive clutter. If you’re planning a wedding, this one will save you money, stress, and regret.

If you laughed or learned something, subscribe, share this with a newly engaged friend, and leave a review. What’s your biggest wedding ick?
