The conversation dives into Jamal’s work in public health, his role in HIV prevention and education, and the importance of dismantling stigma around sexual health in Black queer communities. They talk candidly about dating, testing, language like “clean” versus “dirty,” and why misinformation continues to harm people who deserve care, clarity, and compassion.

Jamal also introduces listeners to Midwest Meetup, his growing grassroots initiative designed to bridge cities, cross state lines, and create intentional spaces for Black and Brown LGBTQIA+ folks to connect, heal, and build community. From wellness retreats to social gatherings, Jamal shares his vision for a Midwest where queer people don’t have to feel isolated or disconnected — no matter the city.
