Hey there, and welcome to Relaxation. I'm Julia Cartwright, and I'm so glad you're here. Especially today, Friday morning, when the week is finally loosening its grip a little bit. You might be feeling that familiar tension in your shoulders, that mental buzz that won't quite settle, or maybe you're just tired of holding everything together. That's exactly what we're here for. The next few minutes are just for you, no productivity required. So let's get comfortable together. If you can, find a spot where you won't be interrupted, somewhere that feels even a little bit safe. Sit or lie down, whatever your body needs right now. There's no wrong way to do this. Now, let's start with your breath. Not to change it, just to notice it. Breathe in naturally through your nose, and as you exhale, let your shoulders drop away from your ears. Do that again. In through the nose, and out through the mouth this time, like you're gently fogging a mirror. Feel that? That's you already beginning to settle. Here's where we go deeper. I want you to imagine your relaxation like a wave. You know that feeling when you're in the ocean and a wave rolls in? It's gentle at first, then it builds, and finally it releases back out to sea. Your body knows how to do this naturally, but we often interrupt the process by fighting it. So as you breathe in, imagine that wave building, gathering all the tension from your day into one place. Don't push it away. Just observe it, like you're watching something happening on a distant shore. Your jaw might be tight, your neck might carry the weight of decisions, your lower back might hold onto worry. Notice these places without judgment. Now, as you exhale, let that wave recede. Imagine all that tension flowing out, dissolving into the sand, becoming part of something larger than yourself. Your shoulders drop. Your face softens. Your breath becomes easier. Do this with me for the next few breaths. Building on the inhale, releasing on the exhale. Wave in, wave out. Beautiful. You're already lighter than when you started. Here's what I want you to carry forward today. When you feel that tension creeping back in at your desk, or in traffic, or mid-conversation, just remember that wave. One conscious breath in, one conscious exhale out. That's your anchor back to this feeling, right here, right now. Thank you so much for listening to Relaxation today. Your commitment to pausing, to breathing, to being gentler with yourself, that matters more than you know.
