  • Color Tour Podcast S4 EP07: Chris Young, Brooklyn, NYC, US

    During my recent trip to the US I caught up with Christopher Young owner and Colorist at See Why Color in Brooklyn.

    Chris really encouraged me to start the CT Podcast and in 2016 we went to a Brooklyn bar and made some very rough recordings.

    I said then “When I make the Brooklyn edition, you are my colorist” 7 years later I finally delivered.

    We chatted in his facility, before moving to a local bar then onto Brooklyn Tattoo.

    The Color Tour Podcast microphone was in London recently to catch up with Thomas Urbye.

    Thomas is the senior colorist and CEO of the Post House ‘The Look.’ They are responsible for shows like Sex Education, Fleabag, Top Boy and Landscapers.

    The Color Tour Podcast is back with a fantastic live on location Podcast with Kali Bateman in Brisbane, Australia.

    Her new boutique color shop is in my adopted home town, so only a short drive for me. Kali grew up in a small country town. She progressed from Film School to editing then onto the dizzy heights of grading ‘Elvis’. It’s a great journey that shows that if you want it enough, it’s acheivable.

  • Podcast S4 EP02: Darren Mostyn, Brighton, UK.

    It’s great to be back with live on location and in person Podcasts!

    Whilst in the UK I headed to Brighton to have a long over due chat with Darren Mostyn.

    His color shop in Brighton on the south coast of England is home for both Online Creative and his home which is a 10 minute walk away. Darren has been colouring for over 20 years but has recently been better known for his Resolve tips YouTube Channel. He is also a producing high end corporate content, shooting all around the world. I visited in July so it was ideal for our pub courtyard colorist chit chat in record UK temperatures. STOP PRESS. Encouraged by my enthusiasm to upgrade to V18 Darren did so the following day with great success. The story is on his YouTube channel.

    This is the first ‘real’ chat in nearly 3 years!

    Born very near the pub where we chatted, Rebecca Goodeve has a ton of varied experience for someone so young. She has worked at both large and boutique post houses, graded freelance and built her own boutique post house in Leigh on Sea. It’s an interesting journey that began by knocking on doors in Soho. Rebecca has such enthusiasm for color and this really comes over in our chat. It was great to talk to somebody who just ‘loves’ grading.
