As disciples of our Lord we are charged with the incredible responsibility to make disciples of others. This is a task that some do better than others, but all of us can and all of us can learn how to better influence others for the Lord.

In this episode I speak to how we can maximize our influence. You may already know some of this but it is a good idea to refresh your memory. And if you are new to the discipling process, these ideas will help you grow in your ministry of reconciliation.

Most of us don't receive personal letters very often. It seems the use of electronic communication has taken the place of hand-written correspondence. That makes a personal letter very special. The realization that someone cared enough about us or the message held such great importance that it needed to be written in our own hand.

Even though hand-written letters have been used for centuries, they still carry an extra level of meaning. So as we study the letters written by Paul and others in the Bible, we should keep in mind the importance and gravity of these letters.

In this episode I want to look at the true meaning behing one of Paul's shortest letters, the letter to Philemon. This short but incredibly powerful letter shows us the true essence of God's love for us. It shows the gospel in action.

I hope you'll join me as I look at the remarkable letter from a brother, to a brother, about a brother. Together we'll see how it supports us in our walk with the Master.

We should want to be perfect but we know that the harder we try, the more we fail. We just cannot attain perfection, especially as we try to on our own.

In this episode I look at focusing on progress rather than perfection and bring some encouraging words from scripture of how we can do this and why this is acceptable to God.

Many of us are familiar with the parable of the wise and foolish builders. It is a favorite parable of many. So too is the song written by Edward Mote by the same title in which he declares, and so do we declare that we build on the foundation of Jesus Christ so that when the storms of life come upon us, we stand firm.

There are a lot of big words in scripture, especially the Old Testament. And these words are hard to pronounce and understand. There are also many words that are as clear as can be and very powerful.

In this episode I look at one of the biggest little words in scripture. It only has two letters; "if". This word is used a lot and always carries tremendous meaning.

I'm going to focus on the wonderful and hope filled words from 1 John 1:5-10. John uses the word, "if" 5 times as he provides us with how we can have confidence in the faithfulness of God, even when we are weak.
