  • Empty Nest Identity Crisis: Why You Feel Lost After Your Kids Leave
    2025/11/30

    Send us a text

    You spent years being “Mum”.

Caring, organising, supporting, worrying, and holding everything together.

So when your kids grow up and leave home, something unexpected can happen.
The house gets quieter… and inside, you feel lost.

    Not sad exactly.
    Not depressed.
Just unsure of who you are now, and what your life is meant to look like next.

In this episode, we talk about the empty nest identity crisis , the part no one really prepares you for.

This isn’t just about missing your children.
It’s about what happens when a role you’ve lived inside for decades quietly ends.

If you’ve ever found yourself asking:

    • Who am I now my kids don’t need me in the same way?
    • Why do I feel empty when I thought I’d feel free?
    • Why does this feel bigger than “just an empty house”?

You’re not alone, and nothing has gone wrong.

In this episode, I gently walk you through:

    • Why feeling lost after your kids leave is a completely normal identity shift
    • How unconscious patterns, roles, and expectations shaped who you became
    • Why this stage of life can stir grief, confusion, and even guilt
    • A simple 3-step reset to help you reconnect with yourself again

We also talk about how to create new purpose and direction, without pressure or overwhelm.

    This includes:

    • Exploring hobbies and interests you may have put aside
    • Creating new goals that are actually about you
    • Volunteering or contributing in ways that feel meaningful
    • Strengthening friendships, partnerships, and social connections
    • Knowing when to reach out for support, whether through trusted friends, groups, or professional guidance

This isn’t about reinventing yourself overnight.
And it’s not about filling your time just to stay busy.

It’s about remembering who you are beneath the roles you’ve played.

If you’re in the empty nest phase and quietly wondering “what now?”, this episode will help you feel seen, grounded, and reminded that this is not the end of your purpose , it’s the beginning of a new chapter.

  • Breaking Old Patterns: Recognising Triggers and Rewriting Your Emotional History
    2025/10/06

    Send us a text

Welcome back to WOW Love Light Inspire, the podcast where we explore healing, growth, and emotional freedom after life’s most challenging experiences—including narcissistic relationships, divorce, and family dynamics.

In this episode, titled “Breaking Old Patterns: Recognising Triggers and Rewriting Your Emotional History,” I’m joined by Richard Morden as we dive deep into triggers—those emotional sparks that seem to hit out of nowhere, keeping us stuck in familiar, often painful patterns. We explore how triggers act as “hidden mirrors,” reflecting patterns inherited from our families, past experiences, and even generational behaviours.

    Together, we discuss:

    • How childhood experiences and family dynamics shape reactions, communication, and self-esteem in adulthood
    • The subtle “micro-patterns” that influence relationships, self-worth, and emotional wellbeing
    • Why familiar pain or chaos can feel comfortable, keeping us trapped in repetitive cycles
    • How media, TV, and cultural norms shape perceptions of love, gender roles, and relationships
    • Why healthy, stable partners can feel “boring” compared to familiar emotional intensity
    • How emotional chemistry and nervous system activation influence who we are drawn to

Richard and I also share practical ways to recognise, process, and release triggers, helping you break free from destructive cycles without being stuck in guilt, shame, or past trauma. From self-awareness to accountability, this episode gives insights into stepping into conscious choice, emotional freedom, and empowered living.

For ongoing guidance and support, you can join my Skool community, The Change Makers. In this group, you’ll connect with like-minded people, share experiences, ask questions, and get answers from both me and other members committed to breaking old patterns, healing deeply, and creating a life that truly fits.

Triggers aren’t obstacles—they’re opportunities to uncover hidden patterns, reclaim your power, and transform your life from the inside out.

Lorene shares a recent experience of being re-traumatised during training and walks through the exact steps she used to get herself out of a spiral — from acknowledging the inner child, to breathing, to using music to shift her state in just 30 minutes. Richard adds powerful self-regulation techniques from Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), tapping, and simple nervous system holds that anyone can practise.

Together, they unpack why triggers are actually gifts, how to set boundaries without guilt, and why acceptance, acknowledgement, and gratitude are the keys to lasting emotional freedom.

    Create the Life You Want

Breaking the patterns to create the future you now

In this episode we dive into how to reprogram your mind so you can create the life you truly want. We all have parts of our lives that are flowing beautifully, and other areas that feel stuck, frustrating or unfulfilled. This conversation is about learning how to shift those stuck places by breaking old patterns and teaching your mind and body a new way forward.

    You will discover:

    • why familiar emotions like fear, guilt and worry can hold you back without you even realising it
    • how unconscious thoughts play on autopilot, and how to become aware of them so you can choose differently
    • the science made simple, how your brain rewires itself, why your body clings to old emotions, and how strong feelings shape your memories
    • why your subconscious doesn’t know the difference between vividly imagined events and reality, and how you can use that to your advantage
    • a step by step practice called Feeling the Future Now, which helps you embody the emotions of your desired future so your brain and body start to believe it is already true
    • five small daily actions that strengthen new patterns until they become your normal way of being

This isn’t about pretending everything is perfect or forcing positivity. It’s about practical, real tools that help you create change, one choice at a time. Whether you want to improve your relationships, your health, your career or your confidence, the principles we explore here can help you manifest a life that feels more aligned with your deepest desires.

  • Narcissistic Abuse Fallout: The Damage You Didn’t See Coming
    2025/09/08

    Send us a text

Even 15 years after escaping an emotionally and sexually abusive relationship, I woke up in the middle of the night reliving it all over again. In this episode, Richard and I dive into the raw reality of trauma resurfacing, when the past sneaks into your present and takes your breath away. This is the real, raw side of recovery we don’t talk about enough.

I share with Richard what happened after I woke up reliving my past, the emotional and sexual abuse that shaped me, and how I handled it through journaling, visualisation, affirmations, and self-compassion. We talk about how healing isn’t a straight line, and how sometimes just accepting what comes up is the most powerful thing we can do.

This episode is a reminder that healing doesn’t mean forgetting, it means being kind to yourself when the pain returns. I also speak to why this work is so close to my heart, and why I continue to support others walking the same difficult road.

    We unpack:

    • Why trauma resurfaces even when you feel “healed”
    • How emotional flashbacks are your body’s way of asking for care, not punishment
    • What it means to hold space for your own healing
    • The difference between remembering and re-traumatising
    • How acceptance and choice are core to every step of healing

🎧 If you’ve ever thought, “Why am I still struggling with this?”, this one’s for you.

  • Narcissistic Abuse Fallout: Why the Pain Doesn’t End When They Leave

    Send us a text

Episode Title: Narcissistic Abuse Fallout: Why the Pain Doesn’t End When They Leave

You’ve left the narcissist. You thought the hard part was over. But now… the real fallout begins.

In this episode of Real Talk: Divorce, Life & Everything In-Between, Lorene Roberts and Richard Morden dive into what really happens after a toxic relationship ends — and why the emotional wounds can linger long after your ex is out of your life.

Leaving a narcissist isn’t the end of the story — it’s the beginning of recovery. The gaslighting, emotional manipulation, love bombing, and control tactics may be behind you, but the damage to your self-worth, identity, and nervous system can stick around like an invisible weight.

    We break down:

    • Why survivors often feel worse after they leave
    • The identity crisis that follows emotional abuse
    • Why guilt, shame, and confusion are so common — even when you know they were toxic
    • How the narcissist’s voice becomes your own inner critic
    • The physical effects of long-term emotional abuse (fatigue, anxiety, insomnia, hypervigilance)
    • What decision paralysis and emotional numbness really mean
    • The importance of reclaiming your voice — and how to do it gently, one step at a time

This is not just an intellectual conversation — it’s raw, real, and validating. Lorene and Richard don’t just speak from professional knowledge, but from personal experience and deep compassion.

Whether you're just starting your healing journey or years out and still struggling with the impact, this episode will help you understand that you’re not crazy — you're recovering. And you're not alone.

    🎧 Tune in if:

    • You’ve left a narcissist but still feel stuck, confused, or ashamed
    • You’re dealing with the aftershock of emotional abuse
    • You want to understand why it’s so hard to trust yourself again
