Elder Regena Crowchild of the Tsuut’ina Nation shares her decades of immense knowledge on Treaties that First Nations entered into with the Crown. Elder Crowchild shares the Spirit and Intent of Treaties from her Tsuut’ina Nation perspective and also known as “The Treaty Godmother.” Elder Crowchild has been on the front lines as a Council woman, advocating to ensure that First Nations Inherent and Treaty Rights are implemented and honoured by the Crown.

Elder Aroha Crowchild of the Tsuut’ina Nation discusses from her international perspective, natural laws from her Māori- Aotearoa lens. Elder Crowchild moved to the Tsuut’ina Nation in the mid-70’s and walks with a unique outlook of our seven sacred teachings from both a Plains First Nation and Māori viewpoint. Elder Aroha shares through humour and singing her perspective on natural laws and Indigenous worldview.

Elder Jackie Lefthand of the Stoney Nakoda Nation (Mini Thni) shares the role of Two Spirited Peoples and their historical roles within their communities. They share the challenges, stereotypes, and the current space they created for Indigenous Two Spirited Peoples. Jackie also shares their experiences with being a part of Pride Calgary and the broader LGBTQTS++ community.
