Alf Wight (his real name) soon became a bestselling phenomenon. There were two films based on his books, as well as the popular BBC TV series, 'All Creatures Great and Small'. And now there's a new Channel 5 TV series to enjoy too!In our sixth episode we have a special link to the original 'All Creatures Great and Small' with tourism boss and proud Yorkshireman James Mason, the CEO of 'Welcome to Yorkshire'. Now in his early 40s, it's James' job to promote his county's many assets, from its Dales, Moors and coastline to its history, culture, food and drink. But as a youngster James also did his bit to promote Yorkshire, 'Herriot Country' in particular. Hope you enjoy listening to The Child Actor.....

She had a happy rural childhood in the mountains of Kyrgyzstan, her father being the community's doctor - and vet. Now, Alfiya lives in the Yorkshire Dales with her husband, a Yorkshireman, and often shows Russian tourists around her adopted home. This lovely lady, a passionate Herriot fan, told us some wonderful stories, including the first one you'll hear - a Tale of a Donkey......
