    This class presents a sharḥ, a line-by-line commentary, upon a poem on creed attributed to Shaykh al-Islām Ibn Taymiyyah. It lays down several foundations of Aqeedah, and from there we carried the study onward through a number of further chapters.

    We maintained a basic approach for this book whilst also mentioning the important matters of most chapters. Closing off with the chapter of how the study of Aqeedah should reflect onto a persons character and more.

    Ustadh AbdulRahman Hassan walks through the famous answer of Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah rahimahullah to a man who came to him complaining of being addicted to sins. In a single page, Ibn Taymiyyah outlined ten cures the same ten that Ibn al-Qayyim later expanded into the 700-page classic al-Dā' wa al-Dawā'.

    The ten cures cover turning back to Allah, humbling yourself before Him, making du'a at the times it is answered, seeking forgiveness, daily adhkar, patience, completing the obligations, keeping La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah on the tongue, never giving up on supplication, and the certainty that victory comes with patience and ease with hardship and that the door of repentance never closes, no matter how far one has wandered.

The sleep discussion walks through the hadith of Safwan ibn 'Assal, the athar of Umar, Dalalat al-Iqtiran as a usuli principle and why it's weak landing on the position that it's not the sleep itself but the posture that determines the ruling.

    The second half unpacks the hadith "the sea is pure and its dead are permissible" and the hadith of Abu Qatada on cats drinking from wudu water. Several Usul al-Fiqh tools are broken open along the way a session that covers far more ground than the chapter title suggests.
