  • A Normal Thyroid Test Result Can Still Mean Something Is Wrong
    2026/07/13

“Your thyroid is normal.” If that sentence has ever made you feel crazy while you’re running on empty, we get it and we’re not letting it slide. Today we walk through why a single screening lab can look fine while you still deal with fatigue, brain fog, weight gain, feeling cold, mood shifts, digestion changes, and hair loss that won’t quit.

We start with the basics of thyroid function and then get very specific about testing. TSH is important, but it’s a pituitary signal, not the actual thyroid hormone your cells use. We explain the difference between free T4 (largely a storage form) and free T3 (the active, usable hormone that often matches how you feel day to day). You’ll also hear why conversion from T4 to T3 can stall with chronic stress, inflammation, nutrient deficiencies like selenium, zinc, and iron, and even gut issues.

Then we zoom out to the autoimmune side of thyroid health. Thyroid antibodies (TPO and thyroglobulin) can be elevated for years before TSH ever moves, which matters for people with Hashimoto’s who want earlier clarity. We also touch on reverse T3 as a potential “brake pedal” when symptoms persist. Finally, we talk about normal versus optimal lab ranges and why your lived experience deserves to be taken seriously, plus a word-for-word script to ask for a fuller thyroid panel: TSH, free T4, free T3, and antibodies.

If this helps you feel seen, subscribe, share it with a friend who keeps getting dismissed, and leave a review so more people can find it. What’s the one symptom you wish your labs explained?

  • You Are Not Crazy, Your Hormones Are Shifting
    2026/06/05

You can be 35, doing everything you’ve always done, and still feel like your body has turned into a stranger overnight. Sleep gets weird, anxiety shows up out of nowhere, your cycle turns unpredictable, and the scale shifts even when your habits haven’t. Then you do the “responsible” thing, see your doctor, run labs and get told everything looks normal. I want to say this clearly: normal labs don’t always mean nothing is wrong.

We dig into what perimenopause actually is and why it’s so often missed. Menopause is one day, but perimenopause can last years and it can start in your mid-30s. We talk through what’s happening as progesterone declines first, estrogen becomes erratic, testosterone drops quietly in the background, and cortisol often rises to compensate. That changing hormone landscape can ripple into mood, sleep, body composition, energy, and even how you tolerate alcohol or recover from workouts.

We also get practical about what helps. I walk you through the symptom clusters I see most, why a single blood test can be a snapshot that misses the plot, and what a better workup can include beyond the usual panels. Then we lay out a step-by-step approach: solid foundations like protein at breakfast, strength training, blood sugar stability, sleep hygiene, stress and nervous system support, plus targeted nutrients and organ support when needed. And yes, we talk about bioidentical hormone therapy as a real option when it’s indicated and individualized.

If you’ve been told you’re too young or it’s “just stress,” this conversation is for you. Subscribe, share this with one woman who needs it, and leave a review so more people can find honest information about perimenopause and hormone health.

  • Your Digestive Symptoms Are Clues And Here Is How To Read Them
    2026/04/27

Your gut is not being dramatic. It’s being specific. If you’ve been told your bloating is “just stress,” your constipation is “normal for you,” or your clean endoscopy means you should simply accept IBS, this conversation is meant to give you a better map and a better next step.

We walk through the five digestive symptoms I see most in practice: bloating, constipation, acid reflux, loose stools with urgency, and sudden food reactions. The key is pattern recognition. When bloating hits matters: within minutes can point to low stomach acid, low digestive enzymes, or low bile flow, while bloating one to three hours after meals can flag SIBO, and end-of-day bloating can signal sluggish motility and a migrating motor complex that isn’t doing its cleanup job. We also talk about why adding fiber can backfire when you’re already backed up, how thyroid health and magnesium status can affect bowel movements, and why nervous system regulation can push some people toward constipation while others “dump” into urgency.

Then we challenge one of the biggest myths in gut health: reflux is often tied to too little stomach acid, not too much. We cover why long-term acid suppression can impair protein digestion and nutrient absorption and raise SIBO risk, plus why you should always taper PPIs with a qualified provider. Finally, we connect food reactions to gut barrier function and explain why the long-term goal is often repairing the barrier and rebuilding a supportive microbiome, not cutting more and more foods forever.

If you want a clearer root-cause approach to bloating, IBS symptoms, reflux, and gut health, listen through and take notes on your timing, triggers, and relief. Subscribe, share this with a friend who’s been dismissed, and leave a review with the symptom pattern you want help decoding.

Thanks for tuning in. If this episode hit home, share it with a friend who needs to hear it.
