We start this podcast with a bible verse taken from 1st. Samuel: One night Eli, whose eyes were becoming so weak that he could barely see, was lying down in his usual place. The lamp of God had not yet gone out, and Samuel was lying down in the temple of the Lord, where the ark of God was. Then the Lord called Samuel. Samuel answered, Here I am. And he ran to Eli and said, Here I am you called me. "But Eli said, I did not call; go back and lie down. So, he went andlay down. Again, the Lord called, Samuel! And Samuel got up and went to Eli and said, "Here I am you called me. My son," Eli said, I did not call; go back and lie down. Now Samuel did not yet know the Lord:

The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands. And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything, because he himself gives all men life and breath and everything else. From one man he made every nationof men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the time set for them and the exact places where they should live. God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is notfar from each one of us. For in him we live and move and have our being. As some of your own poets have said, we are his offspring.

In today’s scripture taken from John: The Master teacher is saying to us and his disciples that he is leaving for we can now stand on our own. He is leaving but He is sending theFriend, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send at His request, and who will make everything plain to us. This comforter will remind us of all Jesus’s teachings. Jesus went on to say that this was His pathing gift to us. He then cautions us not to be upset, or feel abandoned, or bereft. He is not leaving us alone to fend for ourselves.
