Todd Phillips, Utah Valley Universitys mens basketball coach, has secured a significant transfer, signing guard Tanner Davis from Utah Tech for the 2026-27 season. Davis, a six-foot-six, 200-pound sophomore-to-be, averaged 7.5 points, 3.1 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.7 steals per game last season, starting 26 of 33 games and shooting over 53% from the field. He hit double figures in 12 games, including a career-high 17 points in his debut against South Dakota. Davis earned WAC All-Freshman Team honors and led Sky View High to the 2023 Class 4A state title, averaging 14.4 points, 3.8 rebounds, 4.7 assists, and 3 steals as a junior. He joins UVU with sophomore eligibility, planning to major in finance, and will help maintain the Wolverines momentum after back-to-back WAC regular-season crowns and 25-win seasons under Phillips.
