Aryna Sabalenka is the No. 1 seed and, on paper, the favourite as she chases a THIRD consecutive US Open title. She opens against Camila Osorio, with a tricky projected quarterfinal against No. 7 seed Karolina Muchova and a heavyweight semifinal against 2024 finalist Jessica Pegula. Difficult — but of the two halves, hers is clearly the smoother road to the final.

Alexandra Eala arrives at a career-high seeding of No. 17 after the summer of her life — her maiden WTA title in Washington, a Toronto round of 16, and a rise into the world's top 20. She opens against a qualifier, then the winner of Oleksandra Oliynykova and wild card Reese Brantmeier. But it gets steep fast: a likely third-round "young guns" showdown with No. 14 seed Iva Jovic, then a potential round-of-16 date with Coco Gauff, and Mirra Andreeva looming in the quarterfinals.
