概要
This is the 4TH episode of the WOMB.S PODCAST (Women Of Many Backgrounds. Surviving). This podcast is dedicated to women, surviving. Period! It’s a safe space where women birth stories, strength and sisters in solidarity.
As you navigate your particular journey in life, make a committed effort at connecting with your courage, religiously. Celebrate your micro-wins along the way. As promised, I want to leave you with 7 Actionable Steps to Connect With Your Courage:
1. Name your fears with precision – Fear becomes overwhelming when it’s blurry. Naming it clearly shrinks it and puts it into proper perspective. For example -
· A woman’s fear of starting her own business might really be a fear that people won’t feel she’s qualified
· A woman avoiding dating might suffer from a fear of abandonment
2. Find the wisdom beneath your fears – Fear is often a bodyguard for something precious. Meaning -
· Fear of public speaking might be protecting a desire to be respected
· Fear of leaving a job might be protecting a need for stability
· Fear of setting boundaries might be masking a longing for connection
3. Choose micro-brave actions – Courage doesn’t always require a leap. Sometimes it’s just one tiny step needed.
· Instead of quitting your job, update your resume or get help writing that business plan or hire a personal coach to help you meet your goals
· Instead of revealing your whole vision or dream, share a teaser with a trusted friend or mentor or get that degree or certification you’ve been putting off
4. Borrow courage from your past self – Your past holds the receipts of your strength.
· Remember the moment you walked away from a toxic relationship
· Think about the wins & victories you’ve already accomplished in life, no matter how small
5. Anchor strongly into your “BIG WHY” – Purpose is the fuel that keeps courage burning. You might -
· Speak up and stand up to your fears because you want your daughters and sons to see what SELF-ADVOCACY looks like
· Starting therapy because you want to break generational curses
6. Build a supportive environment – Courage grows in community, not constant isolation. This can be done by -
· Sharing your intentions with a trusted friend or sister circle
· Joining communities which feed you and allow you to feed others too
7. Celebrate the acts, not the outcomes – Courage is the attempt, not the result. And lastly,
· Every time you step outside your comfort zone, pat yourself on the back…being courageous is scary. Do it anyway!
