    Start with an open field where the sky is wide and clear. Use a phone app to find the constellation Draco, then train your gaze on it during the Draconid meteor shower. The naked eye catches the bright meteors, but the real game changes when you add a cheap pair of binoculars, which close your frame of vision and reveal stars you cannot otherwise see, or Gen 3 military-grade night vision goggles when you are ready to invest. A simple laser pointer lets the person with the goggles show everyone else exactly where a meteor is streaking, and it was with that setup that they watched meteors stop midair, loop around other stars, and zigzag in impossible patterns. One of the strongest signals they teach is simple: if a light in the sky makes a sharp left turn or stops, it is not a satellite.
