In making each episode of this podcast, our efforts in exploring the lived experiences of men were always heartfelt and sincere. 2WS has been, among other things, our attempt to make sense of our experiences, and of those of the people close to us, and to offer up our reflections as something that might be of use to others.
It’s been more than a year since we published the episode called “How Did We Happen?”. We’ve learned a few things in our time off from making content. And one of these things is that this episode was in many ways incomplete.
We understand no conversation grounded in curiosity and exploration is ever really complete. They are fluid, ever-transforming, and shifting as we continue to develop and mature. Sometimes leaving a work “incomplete” is an honest expression of the path of discovery. But there is a level where it can become misleading and potentially harmful. If we were still making content, we would record a response to this episode and explain the ways in which our perspective has evolved. But, with no plans to record another season at this time, we’ve simply decided to take the episode down.
If we do decide to make more content in the future, we’ll bring this episode back and create a follow-up episode that continues the conversation and fills you in on where we’re at now. Until then, the space this episode once occupied will just be a reminder that some ideas truly require the most careful refinement in order to do them the justice they deserve.
So on behalf of him, Jason Ighani, me, Aeric Meredith Goujon, and Amy Loder, who produces the hell out of this show, we are 2 Watermelons in a Sack, and we love you. Catch you all next time.
