Some spiritual teachings suggest we choose our lives before we arrive here. But if that's true, does that mean we're supposed to be okay with everything that happened to us?
In this episode, Jane and Keri explore the messy space between spiritual beliefs and human reality. They discuss soul contracts, difficult life lessons, toxic positivity, spiritual bypassing, grief, family wounds, and why finding meaning in an experience is not the same as approving of it.
Together, they unpack the idea that healing doesn't require us to rewrite our stories. We can acknowledge growth without excusing harm, hold compassion without denying pain, and recognize that two things can be true at the same time.
Because maybe we chose certain experiences. Maybe we didn't. But either way, abuse was still abuse, trauma was still trauma, and painful things were still painful.
