What happens when God gives a warning, extends mercy, gives time to repent—and pride still refuses to listen?

In this episode of Two Faithful Brews and the Good News, Paul Purifoy and Uncle Royce continue their Bible study through Daniel chapter 4, focusing on Daniel 4:31 and one of the most sobering moments in the story of King Nebuchadnezzar.

Nebuchadnezzar had been warned. Daniel had interpreted the dream. God had given him twelve months to respond. Yet the king stood in Babylon boasting about everything he believed his own power had accomplished.

Then Scripture says:

“While the word was in the king’s mouth, there fell a voice from heaven…” — Daniel 4:31 KJV

The judgment Nebuchadnezzar had been warned about was no longer somewhere in the future. Heaven answered while pride was still speaking.

Paul and Uncle Royce explore what this passage teaches us about pride, repentance, God’s mercy, judgment, obedience, and the sovereignty of God. They also connect Nebuchadnezzar’s experience with Job, Daniel’s faithfulness in Babylon, and what these biblical truths mean for Christians and the Church today.

God’s patience should never be mistaken for God’s permission.
