  • Is Hockey the Best Sport? A Completely Unnecessary Debate
    2026/03/11

What if your job required sprinting at full speed… on ice… while controlling a tiny puck and avoiding people trying to body-check you into a wall?

In this episode, Christy attempts to convince Ashley that the most chaotic sport on earth might actually be the best one… even though Ashley already fully believes that hockey is the greatest sport ever invented.

    We break down:

    • The ridiculous athleticism required to play hockey
    • Why fights are somehow allowed (and even strategic)
    • How the penalty box and power plays actually work
    • Why the championship trophy is the coolest one in sports
    • And why hockey fans are built completely different

Plus we explain things like hat tricks, sudden-death overtime, and the wild traditions that make hockey so addictive to watch.

If you’ve never understood the obsession… this episode might just change your mind. Whether you're new to hockey, a lifelong NHL fan, or just curious about the rules, culture, and chaos of the sport, this episode breaks down what makes hockey one of the most exciting games on earth.

  • Dexter Update: Christy Speed-Ran 8 Seasons, Ashley Is Still on Season 2 (Also… Twilight??)
    2026/03/06

This was supposed to be a quick Dexter update… and then it absolutely was not.

Ashley is still making her way through Season 2 and has become fully fascinated with the cinematography and storytelling choices in Dexter. Meanwhile, Christy is apparently a monster who power-watched all 8 seasons and is pretending her 10k steps a day somehow justified the binge.

Christy now has new feelings about the Dexter series finale… and let’s just say she’s not convinced it needed to go down like that.

Naturally, the conversation spirals into a podcast where people rewatch the Twilight movies and roast all the cringey moments, which immediately unlocks Ashley’s desire to go back and relive her teenage Twilight era.

    Topics also include:

    • Christy declaring her love for Anna Kendrick
    • Team Edward vs Team Jacob debates
    • Ashley being a proud Team Edward girl
    • Christy historically choosing Team Jacob
    • Christy claiming she’ll rewatch Twilight (we all know she won’t)
    • And an extremely important PSA: please choose nice guys

Just a casual bonus episode where we accidentally talk about Dexter, Twilight, and questionable teenage decisions.

  • Cooking for Calm: Is My Late-Night Kitchen Ritual a Coping Mechanism?
    2026/02/25

Why does cooking at night feel so calming?

Why does chopping onions at 7:42 PM regulate my nervous system better than scrolling ever could?

In this episode, we break down why Christy's end-of-day cooking ritual has quietly become her favorite form of stress relief. From grocery store runs and perfectly labeled spice racks to the repetitive rhythm of chopping vegetables, we’re exploring how everyday kitchen tasks can function as emotional regulation.

Is it therapy? Avoidance? A coping mechanism disguised as productivity?

We also dive into how different cultures use cooking for calm.

Across cultures, cooking for calm usually includes:
    • Repetition
    • Slowness
    • Sensory focus
    • A clear, satisfying end point

Maybe dinner being late is just the price of Christy not being cranky.

Let’s talk anxiety baking, chaotic spice improvising, and why the kitchen might secretly be the most underrated therapy room in the house.

  • Why That Song Hits Different: Vibrational Memory, Music Psychology & Evolution
    2026/02/18

Why do we like certain types of music? Is it just preference, or is something deeper happening in our brains and bodies?

In this episode, Ashley dives into music psychology and the idea of vibrational memory. We explore why certain songs instantly transport you back to a specific moment in time. We also discuss how music may be tied to evolutionary psychology, including why some sounds feel safe, powerful, or even threatening.

We break down why concerts feel so intense and why live music hits differently. It is not just the sound. It is the shared energy of the crowd, the performer, and the collective experience that amplifies everything.

Plus, we wrap things up with a chaotic game of Finish the Lyric, where we confidently and sometimes incorrectly sing our hearts out.

If you have ever gotten chills from a song or wondered why your music taste feels so personal, this episode might completely change the way you experience music.

  • Why Are We Afraid? The Psychology of Phobias & Fears (feat. Our Tech Gremlin)
    2026/02/11

Girl, you scared? In this episode, Christy breaks down the psychology of fear and phobias. We touch on what makes something a fear versus a true phobia, how phobias form, and why our brains hold onto them. We dive into the infamous (and wildly unethical) Little Albert experiment, explore fear conditioning, and unpack some of the most common phobias people experience. Turns out, your irrational fears might not be so irrational after all.

Ironically, the scariest thing in this episode isn’t spiders, heights, small spaces, or the Little Albert experiment; it’s the audio glitch in the last 10 minutes. We tried to fix it. We rebooted. We bribed chat bestie. The glitch won.

Hang in there fam and thank you for your bravery.

Plus, we dive into laughter’s health benefits: studies show it may lower cancer risk and improve outcomes for people undergoing immunotherapy. Turns out, laughter really is the best medicine!
