  • The Three Faces That Changed Jacob Forever
    2026/07/10

Jacob is one of the most relatable people in the Bible. He's flawed, fearful, deceptive, and often running from the consequences of his choices. Yet God remains patient with him, shaping him into someone who no longer lives by fear—but by faith.

In this episode, we explore a fascinating pattern woven throughout Jacob's story in Genesis that centers on one recurring phrase: "seeing someone's face." From wrestling with God at Peniel, to reconciling with Esau, to embracing Joseph in Egypt, Jacob repeatedly expects judgment, loss, or even death—but instead encounters mercy, reconciliation, and restoration.

Could these moments be intentionally connected? And what do they reveal about Jacob's transformation... and about God's work in our own lives?

    Together we'll examine:

    • Why Jacob's life is marked by hiding, deception, and running.
    • The life-changing significance of wrestling with God "face to face."
    • How Jacob's reconciliation with Esau echoes God's grace.
    • Why Jacob's reunion with Joseph completes a powerful biblical pattern.
    • What this repeated "face" imagery teaches us about fear, mercy, restoration, and finding true life in Christ.

Jacob's story reminds us that the places we fear the most are often the very places where God intends to reveal His grace. The faces we expect to bring condemnation may become the places where we discover mercy. And the circumstances we think will undo us may be the very means God uses to give us fuller life.

If you've ever struggled with fear, shame, or the temptation to keep running, this episode offers a fresh look at one of Genesis' most compelling stories—and a powerful reminder that God's grace often meets us exactly where we least expect it.

If you enjoyed this episode, be sure to follow the podcast, subscribe on YouTube, and share it with someone who could use this encouragement. I'd also love to hear your thoughts: What do you think the repeated "face to face" moments in Jacob's life are meant to teach us?

  • Serving Jesus... But Neglecting Jesus?
    2026/07/03

Are you spending time in God's Word to know Him—or just to prepare for the next thing you have to teach?

In this episode, I share a personal conviction that surfaced after realizing much of my Bible study had become preparation for sermons, podcast episodes, and ministry rather than simply pursuing fellowship with Christ. Ministry is a good thing, but when serving Jesus begins to replace sitting with Him, we've gotten the order backwards.

Jesus never tells us to manufacture fruit—He calls us to abide in Him. From that relationship, everything else flows.

We'll look at what Scripture teaches about abiding in Christ, the story of Mary and Martha, and Jesus' invitation to drink deeply from the source of living water before pouring into others.

    In this episode:

    • Why ministry should never replace personal fellowship with God

    • The connection between abiding in Christ and bearing fruit

    • What Mary and Martha teach us about this concept

    • Why Jesus is the source of "living water"

    • The warning of broken cisterns in Jeremiah 2

    • A challenging question for pastors, teachers, and all Christians

Whether you're a pastor, Bible teacher, ministry volunteer, podcaster, or simply someone who wants to grow in your walk with Christ, I hope this conversation encourages you to pursue God first—not merely what you can produce for Him.

If this episode encouraged you, consider subscribing, sharing it with someone serving in ministry, and leaving a comment below:

How do you keep your personal relationship with Christ from being overshadowed by serving Him?

  • The Four Keys to Unlocking the Secrets of Prophecy
    2026/07/01

When people think about biblical prophecy, they often imagine a detailed roadmap of future events—wars, timelines, signs, and exact predictions that unlock hidden knowledge about the end times. But what if that approach is missing the point entirely?

In this episode, we explore a different way of understanding prophecy: not as a timeline to decode, but as a traffic map meant to guide God’s people in faithful living through uncertain times.

Drawing from passages like 2 Peter 3, Acts 1, Jonah 3, and Daniel 11, we consider four key principles for reading prophecy well:

    • Prophecy is not given to satisfy curiosity, but to form character
    • Prophetic warnings are meant to change the present, not just predict the future
    • Not every prophetic detail is about every individual personally
    • And above all, the center of all prophecy is Jesus Christ and His Kingdom

Along the way, we challenge common modern approaches to end-times speculation and ask a more important question: Is our understanding of prophecy making us more faithful—or merely more anxious and distracted?

Ultimately, prophecy is not about secret information. It is about faithful navigation. It calls us to repentance, endurance, hope, and a steady focus on Christ.

Because in the end, every road in history leads to one destination: the throne of Jesus Christ. The real question is not whether we can decode every detail—but whether we are traveling faithfully toward the King.
