In this message from the Life of David series, Pastor Dave examines one of the most painful moments in David’s life—the betrayal of his own son Absalom. Through 2 Samuel 15, we see how Absalom’s pride and ambition led him to steal the hearts of Israel and turn against his own father. But this story also reveals a powerful lesson for us today: there is a little bit of Absalom in all of us when we believe we could do things better than those God has placed over us. As David faces an attack from within his own family, he chooses not to fight in his own strength but to trust in the sovereignty of God, pray, and worship. When we face trials, betrayal, and difficult seasons, we can remember that God rules and reigns over every circumstance and that the battle ultimately belongs to Him.
