Many of you will remember Myron Bruce from our Sojourner's fall workshop at Camp Bee. This is a conversation I had with him recently for my podcast, Our Journey to Hope. I thought it would be good for our Sojourner's podcast, Travel With a Purpoese.

It’s always exciting to speak with someone who has found their place in life and are using it to help others. That’s the idea behind this podcast. How can we use what we’ve been given by God to help others as they discover, sustain, or regain hope.

My guest in this episode is Myron Bruce. Myron uses his knowledge and talents to help us grow in hope through song. A lot of us would love to travel through Canada and Alaska in our RV but for any number of reasons, can't make it happen. Well, Danny and Lynn Spain along with Tom and Donna Boatwright and some others did just that this past summer. They enjoyed a wonderful trip exploring one of the most remarkable areas of the United States and North America.

During our Town Hall meeting at our fall workshop at Camp Bee we discussed how HomeMission was interested in working with Sojourners. I suspect that many of our Sojourners are not familiar with the HomeMission organization. With that in mind, I am rebroadcating in this episode a recent conversation I had with Jim Lucas. Jim is one of the key members of the HomeMission. He discusses what Homemission is and how they focus on helping small churches grow spiritually and numerically. We also discuss how they help those facing challenges to their hope.

When I was a child, we had city streets that were paved but once you left the city you probably found more dirt roads than paved roads. I also remember as a young boy that a lot of dirt roads would be coated with an oil substance to hold down the dust in the summer. I remember how we enjoyed walking on the newly coated road and making oily footprints. Our parents weren’t too happy about it.

Now, although we continue to find dirt roads, even rural roads are usually paved.

In this episode I want to look at the story behind the story of how using concrete for paving began. I hope you’ll join me on this “road trip”.

We invest a large amount of money in our RVs and items for traveling with a purpose. For some, this is their home. For many of us, the investment may be on par with the cost of our brick and morter home. In any case, we should look for ways to secure our RV and possessions.

In this episode I give some tips on how to to this. It is not an exaustive list but it is some things to think about.
