Kevin is a radio personality for multiple radio stations including Chicago's alternative rock station Q101. He is also a very funny Chicago comic that you can see all over the city! We had him on this week to promote his new comedy special taping "Kevin and Hell" LIVE at Lincoln Hall on August 9th at 9:00pm! This is one fun episode! Kevin cuts away and gives us a little taste of what recording "live to tape" radio breaks are like. He has one hell of a radio voice! Welcome back to another week of TorgyTalk! We are nice and refreshed from the week off we took! This week Jon and Jack sit down with their good friend Chris Chagoya. Chris has been on TorgyTalk a few times and this one was the best one yet! In this episode we find out that Jack has NEVER been to a strip club, and neither has Jon's wife Cora (who makes a surprise entry). We called our old buddy Luis Ramirez to convince him to not quit stand up comedy. We also touch on how Jon is taking a slight step back from stand up to be a more attentive father. Chris gives Jon a warning that once kids get older they tend to say "my dad will beat up your dad". We all threw back a few drinks during this episode and good lord it was one hell of a talk! This week's guest is none other than BABS Comedy Club owner and operator Emily Ramirez! Emily and her husband Chase are slowly creeping up to the 1 year anniversary of the opening of BABS in downtown Forest Park, IL. She brings in all types of shows into the club besides just stand up comedy. For example, they do improv shows and even 'kid-prov" shows. Her husband and her bought the building and built BABS comedy club from the ground up! This episode we discuss the challenges of not only booking the talent but also running the business end of things in the club and how much of a learning curve it has been. Femi is original from Nigeria and has been doing stand up comedy in Chicago for 2 and a half years. He dives into a little bit of how it was growing up in Nigeria. We talk about how Jon would not be able to handle any of spicy food that Femi grew up eating. Femi has been killing it in the Chicago Roast Battle scene and continues to grow more and more as a very skilled and hilarious comedian.
