Tonight, nearly the entire Moon disappears into Earth’s shadow.

On August 27–28, 2026, skywatchers across much of the Americas, Europe, Africa, and western Asia can witness an unusually deep partial lunar eclipse, with roughly 96% of the Moon covered at maximum.

In this episode of MX3 Podcast, we break down what causes a lunar eclipse, why the Moon can turn a dramatic coppery red, why eclipses don’t happen every month, when and where this one can be seen, and some of the stranger eclipse phenomena most people have never heard about.

We also get into eclipse seasons, the difference between the umbra and penumbra, central lunar eclipses, the rare phenomenon known as a selenelion, and of course an important question: exactly what color is “coppery red”?

And before any of that, we start with a personal-growth quote worth remembering:

“I would rather adjust my life to your absence than adjust my boundaries to accommodate your disrespect.”

MX3 Podcast is about money, motivation, and relevant events, with conversations about the stories, ideas, and events worth talking about.
