Updates in the world of Botanical Medicine for this past week or so include some amazing partnerships between Indonesia and Chine to help preserve the indigenous healing practice of Jamu. There is also a meeting in Barcelona The 9th Edition of the International Conference on Traditional Medicine and Integrative Health (Traditional Med 2026), convening at the Hotel Alimara in Barcelona, brings together a remarkably diverse global cohort of ethnobotanists, phytochemists, clinical researchers, and regulatory experts.
All of this warms the cockles of my heart, as only a generation ago, Botanical Medicine was seen as quaint to dangerous quackery. Now the duck is honking as to the fact that Botanical Medicine is actually the key to physical and economic health and sustainability.
