Here, the Nachtalben—remembered as the night woman or Alp—are not folklore, but electromagnetic predators that induce waking paralysis, feed on fear chemistry, and reproduce through their victims.
A sealed confession from the hidden archive follows railway doctor Stefan Brenner as he maps fluorescent feeding residue, tests iron countermeasures, and quarantines exposed prisoners. For three days, the deaths stop. Then the Nachtalben adapt, and a surviving 19-year-old prisoner begins transmitting a biological signal that draws more of them toward the tunnel—forcing Brenner toward a containment decision no medical oath can survive.
