As a Listener of this podcast, "There is an ass for every hairstylist chair", I, Linda Schonning will share real-life experiences of how I became a World renowned Hair and Makeup Artist. I will create a new episode weekly explaining of how I climbed to the top and also my many falls to bottom and how I picked myself up and kept moving forward.
This episode is about me going to beauty school while attending high school graduating in 1969. I will take you through my journey from the moment I started my career to present, and will have you laughing (and crying) during every episode. Some episodes will be talking about my dyslexic childhood and how no one understood why I couldn't comprehend any school work and how I suffered in school and society. But ultimately I will tell you the story of how I overcame this obstacle and created the woman I am today.
If you feel that you have obstacles in your life, I hope this podcast will inspire you to forge ahead and conquer as I have and you too can have a successful business and career. I have recreated myself five times when others would say "no you can't do that".. and I showed them that with perseverance and talent ...ANYTHING is possible.

  • Episode 2"The Journey Of Life Begins"

Welcome back. Episode 2 is about "The Journey of Life Begins "with finding out how we as stylists created so many funny moments of laughter at our own customers’ expense. No harm was created - just funny situations .
I start out with when I graduated in 1969 and how we hated the Vietnam war and how we all knew that the boys were going to be shipped out within weeks. And yes, we lost many of our boys there.
I knew it was time for me to find my "Journey of Life" by moving out, finding an apartment and finding a new job. Working in the 1970’s we were still teasing hair and using wiglets and learning how to appreciate the humor in our customers crazy hairstyles.
