It was the late 19th century when British sailors and workers disembarked at the ports of Buenos Aires, Montevideo, and Rio de Janeiro... and with them, unknowingly, they brought something far greater than their luggage: a ball.
What began as a pastime for English clubs on foreign soil transformed into the continent's most widely practiced religion. On the dirt streets of Boca, the beaches of Rio, the plains of Colombia, and the working-class neighborhoods of Mexico, football ceased to be merely an imported sport; it became an identity, a source of pride, and a way of telling the story of who we are.
