This is due to the fact that throughout history, same-sex relationships were often dismissed as "unnatural" and deemed immoral. As a result, many of these relationships were forced to remain hidden from society and were not widely accepted. This has led to an increase in the sexualized representation of same-sex relationships as a way for these relationships to become more accepted.
