  • Ep 08 - Gabriela Encina bringing her expertise in helping female expats with the challenges that international life can bring...and a whole lot of laughter!
    2023/10/24

You know how some connections can bring you to tears? You feel grateful that you’ve met this person and absolutely adore the conversations you have with them…Gaby is one of those people.

As soon as I started editing this episode., I felt warm and comfortable…hearing her voice again was so uplifting. So, fun fact for you…my mum listens to alllllll my podcast episodes…and quite often bugs me to find out when the next one is coming out as she listens to them on her 6 mile walks (my dad and her walk together but listen separately, which turns out to be pretty funny when one is 2 mins ahead….’Rick, what are you laughing about?? Salma, just wait for 2 minutes!’). As I recorded a few episodes in April/May but then took a break over summer, we had a quiet phase…and to keep my mother happy, I sent her the unedited version of Gaby’s episode…let’s just say that my mum now adores Gaby, wants to meet her, and have dinner...I feel I’m being replaced!

Gabriela Encina is one of those rare people who just make you feel safe. Unjudged, listened to, and fully accepted exactly as you are. It may not surprise you to hear that she is a licensed psychologist with a MSc in Psychology and over 20 years of experience.
She provides online counselling to female expats and globally mobile clients and has been doing since 2018, supporting more that 400 people living abroad cope with the challenges that international life can bring.

Gaby is an expat herself – born in Chile...she moved to Austria and became an Austrian citizen, and in the past year has moved to Spain – she is literally living the life that she so brilliantly helps others with and can carry out these online sessions in Spanish, English, or German!

As you move through this episode, you will hear how Gaby came to live a life that went ‘against the flow’, and how travel has always played a huge part in her life (can anyone else remember the days of couch surfing?!). She opens up about the leaps of faith she took in finding a job that matched her values and passion, even though it was conducted in a different language to what she spoke! But Gaby’s moto in life is ‘I’ve got to try’ and even though this has led to some ‘roller-coastery’ moments (not in the dictionary but if it was, it would read – ‘bumps in the journey that have high highs and low lows and make you feel like you are losing your stomach and everything in it each time), she has persevered and I am so glad that she did – Gaby is honestly a truly fantastic lady and I loved our talks!

This episode felt like a masterclass in human psychology…a couple of Gaby’s top tips are below:

    -          Know your stressors – take time and give yourself room to identify what they are

    -          Don’t compare yourself to others

    -          Set boundaries – when you say no, stick with it – start small and see how it feels

    -          Being selfish is self-care 101

    -          We control who we are and the effort we put in

I could write for hours about this episode…and I’d love to tell you all about the healthy dose of sarcasm that hits us around minute 30:30…but I’m sure you can pop in and listen to it yourself 😉

  • Ep 07 - Emma Gray on resilience, purpose, and finding the way forward after heartbreak and grief.
    2023/09/21

A widow, a mother, a solicitor (non-practicing), a coach, a trainee counsellor and grief expert – Emma has taken what life threw at her, and used the experience to help others going through the profound grief that comes with losing a partner. From emotional support to helping you understand the practicalities of ‘sadmin’ and what documents need to be in place, Emma pours her heart and soul into ‘Rainbow Hunting’ and in this episode she talks us through not only her experiences and the life changes she went through following her husbands death, but also the work she now does with her own company and also with Cruse Bereavement Support and WAY (Widowed and Young).

A tearjerker of an episode but so powerful in showing how to become more prepared (at least on the ‘sadmin’ side) with so much valuable advice.

Emma has been so helpful in providing so many links to resources which I have added below, but there is one in particular that I want to highlight…

  • Ep 06 - Salvija Reiciune on surviving abuse and how she now helps others to do the same
    2023/06/22

Wow. That’s where I’m going with this one…for the first time in a long while, my guest, Salvija Reiciune left me speechless during this episode – and on more than one occasion!

Before we start, this episode comes with a tigger warning…we will be talking about abuse.

Salvija is a Domestic Abuse Expert, Certified Hypnotherapist, Mindset Coach and Founder of Salvija Coaching and Therapy and has not only been through horrific abuse in her own past, but now she helps women and men worldwide to leave domestic abuse safely, heal from it and create their dream lives feeling safe and confident. She helps people to build unshakable confidence, trust themselves again and feel safe no matter what happens in their lives.

Salvija also works with those who want to train in how to work with abuse victims and runs some incredible courses, going through the elements you need to consider when helping these individuals…and their children.

I’ve kept these show notes short today as I want to give you the choice to open the episode and listen…of course, choice is always important, but never more so than with this episode…what I will say is that this episode is powerful. Salvija is honest and vulnerable, she is open and brings a lightness in her story to what is a very dark topic. We do laugh through this episode and we do go deep…we face this topic head on, as we both believe it should be.

Salvija is a true believer that people are limitless in their mind and in their body - this is something she instils into every one of her clients and something that comes through with abundance in this episode.

If you listen and want to talk to Salvija further, then all of her links are below. Also feel free to get in touch with me and I will pass messages and create the connections for you.

  • Ep 05 - Kerry Wint on realising that it's always worth revisiting the hobby that makes you happy!
    2023/05/22

Kerry Wint on realising that it's always worth revisiting that hobby makes you happy!

Having known Kerry for over 20 years, this was one of those interviews that I’ve been counting down the days to its release! It was an absolute joy to have Kerry on The Wild Clarity Podcast – I really hope you all enjoy.

Kerry started drawing in her younger years and carried on all the way through 6th form, until she ‘bottled it’ (her words!) and left it all behind to instead study psychology and criminology at university, where we met!

In this interview she talks us through early feelings of thinking she wasn’t good enough to pursue a career in the area she loved, of being intimidated by the work she saw others creating and thinking that she would never be able to meet those standards, to then deciding to go back and study illustration, but not being able to, whilst juggling a job, a family, and finding the funds for a second degree.

Kerry didn’t pick up a pencil again until she was 28 – and that’s where she had her first wild clarity moment. She spent her 20s feeling restless and changing jobs every couple of years - not feeling quite like she was where she meant to be. Some time out gave her the space to breathe and think – and that was it, the decision was made to pick up that pencil again and get drawing!

Kerry takes us through her journey of following her dream whilst juggling a day job, being a full-time mum, and covid of course. She now illustrates for Scribbler and Thortful under the name ‘Card and Cake’ and even bought her wedding dress from the royalties – photo can be found on the show notes at www.zoepoulton.com

Like many of us, Kerry had her profound wild clarity moments later in life and she talks about age bringing confidence and the courage to move forward and trust her gut while taking that wild clarity leap. Kerry also talks about taking baby steps towards your dream, of taking those small, incremental steps that get you to where you want to go, but at a sustainable pace, and where you can keep checking in to make sure the direction is still feeling true to you. I think in this day and age, where a lot of people look for instant gratification, this is such a powerful message.

    Kerry’s top tips are:

    -          Go back to what you loved – something you enjoy, that is purely for you – try and see where it takes you!

    -          Try and build additional income streams to give you security

    -          Take baby steps – no need to rush – take your time to think through what will make you happy

I LOVED speaking with Kerry and cannot wait for the next time I see her to give her a HUGE hug…there’s something really special about speaking with someone who you’ve known for so long but hearing their story in a completely different way – hearing more, connecting more, and getting more of a glimpse behind the curtain.

All of Kerry’s links are below and I’ve added a photo on my website of her and Carrie both looking stunning on their wedding day last year – I really hope you enjoy listening to this one, it’s very special to me x

  • Ep 04 - 7 - Learning points and proudest moment
    2023/04/17

This round-up episode takes us on a journey through Alex’s proudest moments and her top tips that she would pass onto everyone listening…

Alex’s 2 standout learning points to pass on were:

    1.       Networking – create a circle of those around you who you trust. When Alex was thinking of opening her business, she joined a network that welcomed her with open arms…and since, she has been supported and valued, and has even won a peer nominated award from the network. Having a supportive network created a supportive foundation for her to create her own business.

    2.       Your business can fit around you – there is always a way to make it accessible for you. Whatever is going on in your life, release the pressure of having a ‘hustle culture’ business where you are working every hour, and focus on building something that makes you happy and fits around you.

My favourite quote from Alex from this episode:

‘I did it my way…and no-one was surprised!’

We often inspire others when we don’t even know we are doing it…that is why I am so proud of these conversations I have on The Wild Clarity Podcast – if these conversations have inspired you and you have a story of wild clarity moments that you think could inspire others, then please do get in touch!

  • Ep 04 - 6 - Coaching Vs Mentoring
    2023/04/17

Coaching Vs Mentoring – this conversation was born from a recent discussion online about what is a coach, and can anyone call themselves a coach? Do you need qualifications? Do you need experience?

We talk in depth about consulting, coaching, and mentoring – the difference, the parameters of each and Alex shares her thoughts on the dangers of calling yourself a business coach when you might actually be very niche on one area.

As an EMCC accredited coach and mentor, I also give my thoughts on this one and help clear up the differences between coaching and mentoring…a really informative episode where we clear up a few myths!

  • Ep 04 - 5 - Alex's predictions for 2023!
    2023/04/17

Alex’s predications for 2023…oooh, these are good ones!

Alex’s predications were very much centred around connection…us reconnecting in person at retreats and events. We also talk about the danger of comparing yourself to others and even decide at min 7.25 to make up a new word…see if you can spot it!

    Alex’s 3 predications are:

    1.       In person events (retreats)

    2.       Books! People taking the knowledge and content they have created during lockdown and collating and curating their own content into a written document to share with others

    3.       A more holistic approach to work and life
