概要

 August 1987, outside the hamlet of Indian Lake. Luna is dispatched to a report of a man standing on the Moose River Bridge every night at the same hour—never moving, never speaking, just watching the water. She expects a drifter or a camper with a bad case of insomnia. What she finds is a man in a blue wool coat who has been dead for three years, according to the county coroner. But the dead man knows her name. He tells her something he could not have known—a confession written in a submerged car at the bottom of the river. And when she checks the logs, she finds that every ranger who has spoken to him has later resigned, or worse. This is a story about what the river holds, and what we decide to forget.
